Kucinich: We Remain Committed to Keeping Innerbelt Construction on Schedule

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) today released the following statement after reports that the City of Cleveland was not successful in its bid for a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant to help fund the construction of the second Innerbelt Bridge.

"While disappointing, the decision is not surprising. Efforts to ensure the rapid construction of the Innerbelt Bridge do not hinge on the TIGER Grant. The TIGER Grant was a good avenue that we pursued strongly, but it was not the only option. We are continuing to pursue all options and remain committed to building the second Innerbelt Bridge on schedule," said Kucinich.
